Mission Statement

The mission of the Mount Pleasant Central School District is Educating Each Student Today for Endless Possibilities Tomorrow. The administration and faculty are dedicated and committed to providing a highly challenging and comprehensive education for each child. It is the primary goal of the district to encourage and nurture each student to fully develop his or her potential as a responsible constructive citizen of our society, and in that society to be a self-sufficient and self-fulfilled individual.

The Progressions

As part of the 2022 - 2027 Strategic Plan stakeholders have developed The Portrait of a Mount Pleasant Learner. Nine qualities of successful learning have been identified and defined.  With each of the nine qualities, a progression was developed to further define where on a continuum of growth each learner is and where each learner is striving to be.  The portrait of a learner infographic and progressions are designed to be accessible and engaging to students and families.  The current work recognizes and integrates much of the previous work that has made Mount Pleasant successful. 

It is our intention to use the defined qualities and critical attributes to set a unified approach to learning and for successful learning to be showcased, modeled, highlighted, and exemplified by teachers, parents, and community members.  We want students to use the Portrait of A Learner and the progressions as a positive tool for reflection and to foster a growth mindset.  Ultimately we see The Portrait of a Learner as a way to develop a district identity that supports and celebrates learning in all possible areas and guides us in educating each student today for endless possibilities tomorrow.
