ACADEMIC INTERVENTION SERVICES (AIS)
The Mount Pleasant Central School District provides Academic Intervention Services (AIS) to students who are at risk of not achieving the New York State Learning Standards.
Academic Intervention Services are designed to help eligible students achieve the NYS learning standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics. These services may include additional instruction including whole group or small group instruction that supplements the general curriculum (regular classroom instruction); and/or additional support services to address barriers to improved academic performance. All decisions regarding Academic Intervention Services are made by the building-level Response to Intervention (RTI) Problem-Solving Team using the processes outlined in the Mount Pleasant Central School District RTI Plan. Multiple data points are used to determine eligibility and intensity of service and may include the New York State 3-8 ELA and Mathematics assessments, other New York State assessments, benchmark screening results, local common assessments and/or classroom performance.
During the 2016-17 school year, the following cut scores have have been provided by the New York State Education Department.
English Language Arts (ELA):
Please note that students scoring at or above these scale scores, but below level 3, are not required to receive AIS and/or students support services unless the school district determines it to be necessary.
If you would like more information regarding AIS Services, please contact your building principal or the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
