Fostering Resilience

Now more than ever, students are asked to adapt and be flexible. They need skills that help them cope with change and the need to be resilient is important. We recently held several workshops for parents entitled "Fostering Resilience - Parenting the Resilient Child". The workshops were led by Dr. Amy Walker; a full-time licensed psychologist and the Associate Director of Training at Cognitive Behavioral Consultants. Dr. Walker has expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for children, adolescents, adults, and families. Dr. Walker talked about anxiety versus avoidance, how to structure the home environment to build supports and independence, along with actual strategies to foster resilience and grit. Please find the recordings of the workshops below.
