HES and Mount Pleasant Police Department
Captain Michael Pierce said, “We also appreciate the district for offering the use of Mt Pleasant Schools to conduct future School Resource Officer training as well as ALERRT training. These training are not only beneficial to our department but it also allows our officers exposure to the different layout of your schools. Additionally, We have always had difficulty finding space to conduct this training and training in the same spot gets somewhat repetitive.”
ALERRT is Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training(a.k.a Active Shooter training). All Mount PLeasant officers train in this at least once a year and the specialized units the Emergency Services and Initial Response Team conduct training one to two times per month.
For safety reasons, we cannot share photos of the training, but check out the photo of our SRO, Luke Oliveri, and some of his colleagues earlier this summer at National Night Out, Kickball with Cops.
