Celebrating our Retirees

Celebrating our Retirees

Representing a combined 300+ years of service to the Mount Pleasant Schools, tonight we say farewell to twelve beloved employees: Felicitas Carpenter, Frank Lattanzio, Laura Lee Chambers, Marianne Chaney, Lorrie Villalba, Dr. Susan Cowles-Dumitru, Donna Murphy, Dawn McFarland, Anthony Paduano, Claudia Palermo, Patricia Ryan, and Chris Carpenter.

Dr. G, with help from Superintendent for the Day Brooke, addressed the retirees, “Your legacy will live on through your students. The impact you have made on the lives of those you have touched is immeasurable. We wish you retirements filled with joy, relaxation, and endless enjoyment. Once a wildcat, always a wildcat. Please come back and visit, you will always have a home here.”

He wrote a haiku for each of these educational giants which he presented to them at tonight's meeting. The BOE business meeting was followed by a lovely reception, complete with Wildcat Cookies!

One additional noteworthy detail to share about the ceremony: science teacher Ray Sczcerba and WHS student Maura Spruck, brought cowbells for everyone to ring. Everyone can use a little more cowbell.

Congratulations, thank you, and we will miss you!
