Dr. Peter Rufa has been selected as the new Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. The appointment will be formally recommended at the May 14th Board of Education Meeting, with Dr. Rufa set to assume his new role on July 1, 2025.

The excursions are the culmination of the year long Trout in the Classroom program that the AP Environmental Science classes participate in.
Mr. Anthony Carolini be appointed as the next Principal of Hawthorne Elementary, effective July 2, 2025. Mr. Carolini will succeed Anne Stern, who is retiring after a distinguished 31-year career in elementary education, including 11 years of dedicated service to Mount Pleasant.
Congratulations to WMS 8th grade students in Mrs. Seward's and Mr. Conroy's classes who earned the New York State Association for Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (NYSAHPERD) 2025 Physical Education Student Leadership Award.
In Mrs. Balcer's and Mr. Hall's Science classes, students worked together to develop ways of demonstrating physical versus chemical changes using a given set of materials.
