Dr. G will retire as Superintendent of Schools at the conclusion of the 2026-2027 academic year. The Board of Education will accept his resignation for retirement at its June 10, 2026, meeting.

The BOE is personally delighted for Dr. G and his family that he will retire at the end of the 2026-27 school year. We are deeply saddened by his departure from our community and extremely appreciative that he has notified us a year in advance of his retirement, affording the District ample time to plan.

The Public Hearing on the 2026-2027 District-wide Safety and Emergency Management Plan will take place at the beginning of the Monthly Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 7:30 pm. If you have any comments prior to the Board meeting, please send them to Craig Scatola at cscatola@mtplcsd.org prior to July 15, 2026.

The school budget was approved, and the election results are as follows:

Budget Proposition: 523 to 199. It passed with 72% approval.

Tracey Pisano - 268 votes

On Saturday May 9, about 130 of our Middle School musicians attended a Music in the Parks festival held at Middletown High School South in New Jersey.

The AP Environmental Science students Trout in the Classroom program culminated with their trout release trip. Their teacher is Ms. Hoahing.

This award is presented to students who consistently demonstrate model behavior and effort, positive character traits, respect for others and the environment, and leadership qualities. They will be formally honored at Arlington High School on Saturday, May 9.

JT Nichols was honored with the 2026 Aimee Chu Hung Braun Travel/Study Grant at this year’s National Honor Society Induction ceremony.

Westlake High School proudly inducted 61 juniors and seniors into the National Honor Society, celebrating students who exemplify scholarship, character, service, and leadership.
