2017 Tri-County Science & Engineering Fair
Westlake Science Research students win again, this time at the 2017 Tri-County Science & Engineering Fair, held on Saturday, April 22, at White Plains High School, where over 130 students from 16 area high schools gave poster presentations of their original research. In the highly competitive category of Health & Medicine, junior Joelle El Hamouche won 3rd Place for her original study "Investigating the EET-PGC-1a-HO-1 Axis: The Role of CO in Mitigating Obesity and Diabetes Through Regulation of Adipocyte Differentiation." In that same competitive category, junior Charles Panzarella won 2nd Place for his original study, "Using Optokinetic Reflexes to Quantify Vision in Non-Communicative Pediatric Patients."
