From the Superintendent

Welcome to the Mount Pleasant Central School District!

Our district is located in central Westchester County and is comprised of Hawthorne and Columbus Elementary Schools, Westlake Middle School and Westlake High School.  The district serves students from Hawthorne and Thornwood, as well as from portions of Valhalla and Pleasantville. Student enrollment is approximately 2,000.

The administration and faculty are dedicated and committed to providing a challenging and comprehensive education for each child. It is the primary goal of the district to encourage and nurture each student to fully develop his or her potential as a responsible constructive citizen of our society, and in that society to be a self-sufficient and self-fulfilled individual.

We invite parents and community members to become involved in the continuing development of the district's policies and direction through participation in Board of Education work sessions and monthly meetings, and by supporting the PTAs, Westlake Athletic Club and the Education Foundation.
